Yellow Earth was established in 1991 in Melbourne, Australia. It is one of the world’s leading sheepskin manufacturer, specialising in a range of Australian sheepskin products which are exported worldwide.
In 1998, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) worked together with Yellow Earth to develop a unique sheepskin product able to effectively prevent bed pressure ulcers, a common yet easily curable injury. Through thorough testing, the Medical Sheepskin was developed and an approved certification was formalised through the CSIRO.
